About this event
Join us for the latest MIHE and ARMS Seminar: “Income and Health: What has COVID changed?”.
Presented by Dr. Nav Persaud, an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, and co-hosted by MIHE and ARMS, The pandemic focused attention on inequities because COVID-19 spreading among disadvantaged people threatened those with privilege. At the same time, inequities that exacerbated the pandemic are still present, leading to questions such as:
• What has the pandemic changed with respect to the relationship between income security and health?
• What policy changes are needed now and during the next pandemic?
Reflecting on equitable COVID-19 pandemic recovery, the effect of a one-time cash transfer on physical distancing by low-income individuals, as well as his experience at St. Michael’s Hospital, Dr. Persaud will discuss results of a clinical trial of income supports during the pandemic and evidence from prior to the pandemic.
When: Oct. 31, 2022 between 2:30 and 3:30 PM EST
Where: Remote via Zoom
